Bring Hawaiʻi-grown foods into your classroom or school.

Hoʻopili ʻAi sampler boxes are for Hawaiʻi educators and culinary programs. Classroom Boxes include 25 take-home bags of Hawaiʻi-grown foods, classroom posters, and fun fact and farmer cards. Culinary Boxes include the same assortment of local food items packaged in bulk and intended for group preparation, with enough Hawaiʻi-grown samples to prepare about 200 tastings.

After-school programs, intersession camps, clubs, sports teams, homeschool groups, preschools, and other educational programs are eligible to receive either type of box. If you're not sure your group fits, fill out the request form, tell us about your program, and we'll follow up.

Note, distribution of free boxes are contingent on grant funding and not always available. If/when free boxes aren’t available, educators and schools can still purchase a classroom box here, or a culinary box here.

We send sampler boxes to schools and programs across Hawaiʻi.

Free boxes are funded by sponsors, so they go out as sponsorships and Hawaiʻi-grown crops are available. Please send your request well before your lesson date. If you need a box by a certain date, you can email us at hoopiliai@eatbreadfruit.com to check on current turnaround times. For delivery within 2 weeks, you could also purchase a Classroom Box or purchase a Culinary Box instead.

No. Sponsored boxes are free for schools. Donations from partner organizations and our community pay for the food, the learning materials, and delivery – and those dollars also go back to Hawaiʻi's farmers.
