ʻUlu Ambassador: Jasmine Silverstein

Chef Jasmine was born and raised on a small homestead fruit farm on the East side of the Big Island where she learnt through hands-on experience the importance and hardships of growing our own food. This instilled within her a passion to build something that could make a difference for the agricultural endeavors within Hawaii.

Jasmine currently runs Meals In a HeartBeet, a meal delivery service for the Big Island, which utilizes 100% locally grown meats and seafood, as much locally grown produce as possible, and of course, ulu! She has also been running HeartBeet Catering since 2015, as head chef and operator.

As a holistic health coach and personal chef with over 10 years of experience, Jasmine learned not just how to cook, but how to respect ingredients and the land they come from. Her approach to cooking is rooted in that experience: thoughtful, balanced, and grounded in whole, real foods.

She works closely with local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen across Hawai‘i to source ingredients that are fresh, seasonal, and responsibly raised whenever possible, and is an impactful partner for our Farmer Co-op.
