Waipahu HS Student, Dahyanna Viado, made this Hawaiʻi version of Fish & Chips by using local favorite Spicy Ahi Poke & serving it with crispy baked 'ulu chips.
Dahyanna Viado
1 lb fresh ahi
2 stalks of green onion, chopped
1 cup of Ogo seaweed, chopped
1 tsp shoyu
Pinch of salt and pepper
2 Tbsp mayo
2 Tbsp sriracha
ʻUlu chips (find the recipe in the link attached)
Cut the ahi into large cubes
Place ahi in bowl
Mix in chopped up onions and ogo
Add in the shoyu
Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Add the mayo and sriracha
Mix well
Put ʻulu chips in a bowl to serve alongside the ahi
Instead of ʻulu chips serve this poke with Cripsy Fried ʻUlu Wedges or Grandma Orlinda's 20% ‘Ulu Flour Tortillas. Yum!
