Dahyanna Viado is a student in the culinary program at Waipahu High School and she has this to say about the recipe she submitted: "The dish that I want to make is Spicy Ahi with chips. The local ingredients are fresh ahi, ʻulu, green onions, ogo seaweed, and shoyu. This dish inspired me because my mom worked at the fish block for 20+ years and is super dedicated to her job. Since she always hustles fish and brings it home sometimes for dinner, I want to make the dish for other people, to show appreciation for my mom and what she does for us."
