A classic poke recipe made with Kalo, limu, and ʻinamona & seseame oil by Chef Kealoha Domingo.

Kalo Poke

Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs. recipe-ready kalo

  • ½ a medium round onion, finely sliced


  • 1 cup pure sesame seed oil


  • 2 Tbsp. alaea salt (add to taste)


  • 2 Tbsp. ʻinamona (reserve the rest for garnish)

  • Limu, chopped (to taste)

  • ¼ Cup green onion, finely sliced (reserve some for garnish)

Directions

  1. Warm kalo in microwave for approximately 5-7 minutes, then cool to room temp. Cut into 1/2” cubes. Add sesame seed oil kalo to coat. Season with salt and ‘ina- mona, then add sliced onions and limu and mix well. Garnish with a dusting of ʻinamona and top with limu and green onion before serving.
