We invite YOU to be a part of the RevʻULUtion by helping to promote 'ulu (breadfruit) – a local food that is delicious, versatile, and sustainable! WINNER: Handmade farm to table ʻUlu Pierogis by Justine Ma of Hawai'i Island

A spectacular made-from-scratch recipe using ʻulu flour for the dough and mature ʻulu for the filling!

WINNER: Kimo's Politically UNcorrect Carne Asada 'Ulu Fries by Bill DeBoe of Hawai'i Island

ʻUlu grown in Hawaiʻi fueled with a southwest mainland concept combine to make a spectacular plate that is great for sharing, keeping to yourself, or for curing that mean hangover.

FINALIST: ʻUlu Chocolate Chip Cookies (Gluten Free) by Nina Beatty of O'ahu

This recipe uses 100% ʻulu flour as the base and main ingredient. There is no better go-to sweet than a good old chocolate chip cookie!

FINALIST: ʻUlu and Ali'i Mushroom Pierogi by Chad Bunish of Hawai'i Island

A Hawaiian spin on Polish favorite. These little dumplings are filled with savory 'ulu, Hāmākua mushrooms and local cheese.

ʻUlu Recipe Contest Winter 2020-21

The next round of our ʻulu recipe contest is now open! The deadline to submit your one-of-a-kind ʻulu creations is March 31, 2021. Two winners will each receive a $100 gift card to another one of our professional ʻUlu Ambassador restaurants. Judging criteria and submission form are below.

Judging criteria:

Creativity (1-5 points)
Appearance (1-5 points)
Instructions are clear and easy to follow (1-5 points)
For an extra five points, post an image or video of your recipe on social media with hashtag #ULURECIPE and tag us @hawaiiulucoop!

Next deadline to submit your recipe to be eligible for the next giveaway is March 31, 2021. Restaurant location to be determined.
